About the Marlin (Blue)

One of the fastest fish in the ocean, reaching 110 km/h. They use their bill to slash through schools of fish, then eat the wounded. Ernest Hemingway made them famous in The Old Man and the Sea. Females can be 4x heavier than males. They can change color rapidly, flashing blue and silver. They are among the most prized big game fish. Their bill is hardened bone used as a weapon. They can live 20+ years. They migrate thousands of kilometers. They are eaten by sharks and orcas. Their populations are declining due to overfishing. The largest caught weighed 820 kg.
