About the Seahorse (Lined)

The most common seahorse in the Caribbean and Atlantic. They can change color to match their surroundings. Like all seahorses, males carry the developing young in a brood pouch. They are listed as vulnerable. They are found in seagrass beds, coral reefs, and mangroves. They are harvested extensively for traditional Chinese medicine. They can rotate their eyes independently. They use their prehensile tails to hold onto vegetation. They have no stomach so they must eat constantly. Populations have declined 30% over 10 years.
