About the Goby (Mandarin - not the fish)

Tiny fish that perform cleaning services on larger fish. They are among the most recognizable reef fish with bright blue and yellow stripes. They set up cleaning stations on coral heads. Over 2,000 goby species exist, making them one of the largest fish families. Many gobies live symbiotically with burrowing shrimp. They are found from freshwater to deep ocean. They are generally less than 10 cm. Some species can climb waterfalls using their mouths as suction cups. They are the most species-rich fish family on coral reefs.
