About the Saltwater Crocodile

The largest living reptile, reaching 7 meters and 2,000 kg. They are the most dangerous crocodilian to humans, killing over 1,000 people per year. They have the strongest bite force ever measured: 16,460 newtons. They can swim at 30 km/h and burst from the water to catch prey. They have been found 1,000 km out to sea. They can live 70+ years. Their stomach acid is strong enough to dissolve bones and horns. They can slow their metabolism to survive over a year without food. Their genome is the most slowly evolving of all crocodilians. They are found from India to Australia.
