About the Spotted Eagle Ray

One of the most beautiful rays with white spots on a dark background. Each individual has a unique spot pattern. They can leap out of the water and are sometimes seen jumping repeatedly. Their snout is shaped like a ducks bill, used for digging in sand for buried prey. They have plate-like teeth for crushing shellfish. They are sometimes seen in large schools. They can live 25+ years. They give birth to 2-4 live pups. They are near threatened. They are circumglobal in tropical waters. They can dive to 60 meters.
