About the Tiger Shark

The garbage cans of the sea - they eat literally anything. Stomach contents have included license plates, tires, paint cans, and even suits of armor. They are second only to great whites in attacks on humans. Their striped pattern fades with age. They are one of the few sharks that are ovoviviparous. They can detect low-frequency sounds from miles away. They are nocturnal hunters. They are the primary predator of sea turtles, their serrated teeth designed to cut through shells. They are considered near threatened. They can live 50+ years. Females can have litters of 10-80 pups.
