About the Giant Pacific Octopus

The most intelligent invertebrate on Earth. They have 3 hearts, blue blood, and 9 brains (one central brain and one in each arm). They can change color and texture in milliseconds to match their surroundings. They can squeeze through any gap larger than their beak (the only hard part of their body). They solve puzzles, open jars, and escape from sealed tanks. They live only 3-5 years. Females guard their eggs for months without eating, then die after they hatch. They have been observed using coconut shells as portable shelters. Over 300 species of octopus exist.
