Moon Jellyfish
About the Moon Jellyfish
The most common jellyfish on Earth, found in every ocean. They have been to space - they were sent to the International Space Station to study how they adapt to microgravity. Their populations are exploding as oceans warm - jellyfish blooms are becoming more frequent worldwide. They can clone themselves - if cut in half, each half can regenerate into a complete organism. They have been around for 500 million years. They have no brain, heart, blood, or bones. They are 95% water. Some scientists believe jellyfish could eventually dominate the oceans as fish populations decline.
