About the Blue Whale

The largest animal ever to have existed on Earth - larger than any dinosaur. Their heart is the size of a small car and weighs 180 kg. Their tongue alone weighs as much as an elephant. They eat 4 tons of krill per day during feeding season. Their calls reach 188 decibels, louder than a jet engine, audible over 1,600 km. There are only 10,000-25,000 left after near-extinction by whaling. A blue whale calf gains 90 kg per day drinking 200 liters of milk. Their arteries are so large a basketball could travel through them. Their blows can reach 12 meters high.
